History  

Active Job Seekers (ATH), a registered association founded in 1992, is a member association of the National Cooperative Organisation of the Unemployed (TVY).

Places of business at which the Association has operated:

  • Kauppakatu 13

  • Vallilankatu 3 (1994)

  • Penttilänkatu 7 – 9, Swap Market (1996)

  • Varvintie 4, Recycling Market (1997)

  • Penttilänkatu 7 – 9, electric workshop + Recycling Market (1998)

  • Rantakylä, Puronsuunkatu 1, (1997 - 1998)

  • Rantakylä, Latolankatu 17, Recycling Market, Building Materials Market, and cafeteria for the unemployed (September 1998)

  • Noljakka church, meals for the unemployed (1998 - )

  • The electric workshop moved from Penttilä to Ukkolantie in 2002

  • Premises for the Recycling Centre and the Recycling Market were rented in Marjala from the City of Joensuu (2000-2002)

  • In 2004, the recycling facilities were consolidated into the premises at Teollisuuskatu 5-7, which now house the electric workshop, the Building Materials Market, and the Recycling Market. At the same time, meals for the unemployed moved to the Mutala church.
